Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey all,
I have a 996 GT3 leather seat but I seem to be missing a piece of material that sits under the cushions and wraps around the bottom lip of the seat?
Does anyone know what sits under the cushions? Is there a piece of material stuck to the inside of the seat shell or is there a lining under the the main cover?
Does anyone have a picture of a leather/fabric seat without the cushions or possibly even without the main cover on it?
Thanks
Thanks, just need to know what this part is:
From what I can see it's possibly glued to the seat shell rather than part of the main cover?
My seat is originally leather but I'd like to swap to nomex/perlon fabric. Although I think the leather seat should have something under the cushions too.
The cushions basically are held in place by velcro, which are the strips you see on the seat bottom and back. That's pretty much all that is there. Very low tech. Some guys that are tall will remove the seat cushions before they go on the track. They tell me it allows them to better feel the track and fit in the car with their helmet and Hans. Crazy huh?
However, there are little pillows that come with the seat that can be attached to the Velcro strips used for lumbar support. Each seat comes with one. You can buy extras thru Recaro, or make them yourself. I bought a few extra and I can adjust the lumbar and angle for more comfortable street driving.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for that, I have all the cushions and the little lumbar pillow as well
Although with my seat I have the main cover & cushions and that's it.
Where it's circled in the image I posted is just the fibreglass seat, so does yours have fabric under the cushions and if so is it just glued to the seat?
Not certain what you mean by fabric under the cushions and if so is it just glued to the seat?
The backside of the cushions are fabric that sticks to the Velcro. Very basic and simple.
Here is a bad picture that is distorted due to the angle I took the picture. But you can see it looks just like yours. I have a couple of "pillows" attached to the back of the seat.
Hope this helps.
Sorry, what I mean is not on the underside of the cushions but the velcro part that is on the seat. My seat is just fibreglass there are no horizontal velcro strips there is just velcro around the cover.
So just need to know what goes here (under the cushions) as it's not part of the main cover:
Yes thanks that does help thanks, so I just need to know how to make this part as mine is just fibreglass at the moment and I only have the main cover and cushions.
This is my seat so it's missing the inner lining so just need some info on what it looks like so I can remake it:
Yes, if you look at the picture you sent of your seat, and my picture, you will see that there is fabric that is probably glued to the fiberglass seat. Velcro strips are then attached to the fabric. Can't tell how the Velcro is attached to the fabric.
Thanks for all your help! I think the velcro is stitched
If possible if someone has a pic of their seat if they have one without the main cover on it that would be really helpful to see the size & shape of that inner fabric.
