If not they need to use a surface glue technique that concerns me a bit.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2004 Carrera 4S. L041 Black. What looks like a double parking lot door ding on right 1/4 panel just ahead of rear flare. Pretty high. Level of door handle. By the way, whoever did this should be keel-hauled.
Question is this: I have seen and heard GOOD things about paint-less dent removal on issues like this. I have at least 2 highly regarded PDR technicians in my area. Naturally they need to get behind the 1/4 panel to really do this right. I'm thinking there isn't a removable wheel liner in the rear wheel wells right? If so, how does the PDR technician get behind the 1/4 panel? Is there some other access? The tech mentioned perhaps thru the convertible top opening. I checked and I don't think so. If not they need to use a surface glue technique that concerns me a bit. The original paint is far from perfect, but very nice. I'd imagine the "glue technique" would have to leave some permanent residue?
Is anyone familiar with paints dent removal on a 996 or other Carrera quarter panel with non-removable rear wheel liners? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. - hutch
Give these guys and call and see what they can do. One of the best paintless dent repair shops I know...probably because we have lots of *** holes on a tiny island

They'll probably do it one of a few ways.
Get in through the trunk as you can snake a wire or rod all the way to the door jamb(most likely the route they'll take.
Remove interior door panel
Remove latch assembly
Drill small pilot hole in door jamb
Get in through convertible top opening
Sorry about the dent. That is any easy job for paintless dent removal. You will be amazed at what they can do. Several years ago I used a paintless dent removal local guy and it turned out perfect.
Why can't the rear wheel liner be pulled? Also it looks like you could get to it from the speaker opening if you have rear speakers. Or put the top in the "service" position and pull the rear carpet/tray out for access.
the opening is going to be inside the rear 1/4, and even if they need to drill out a whole, you wont see it. But this black car is going to be nearly impossible to fix perfectly. They will tell you that before they start
