With my aero, I have virtually changed all the mechanicals but left the external stock...wolf in sheeps clothing.

It was a bit of a struggle, that is until I took the advice here on Rennlist to use studs and clean out the threads!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T161109Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello, I wanted to share with you my project build which I've been slowly updating and working on this year. It's an early 996 C2 throttle cable car, paint to sample in Grand Prix White. specified with an Aero Kit - but most likely you might notice first the steering wheel is on the wrong side (I'm based in Britain)! I've had a lot of fun with it, updating the interior, having custom motor sport wheels made and refreshing the exhaust among other things. Along the way I've been creating some 'How-To' video guides of the changes made, which I hope you might find useful, you can find them under the channel 'TheThrottleCable' on YouTube youtube.com/c/TheThrottleCable If you've been following please let me know what you think, and also if you have some ideas of what I should do next with the car i'm happy to hear it! Regards Rob

POST 2Original post

Wow! Thanks for sharing. This takes ownership to a whole new level

POST 5Original post

Cool car and thanks for throwing a sub my way. Returning the favor and will check out your vids after work.

POST 6Original post

Wow! Really nice... And the documentation is quite extraordinary - Many thanks The best suggestion I can make is that, if you drive it at night you should put some Litronics/HID's in it. If you want to keep things Porsche centric you'd have to source Litronics (which is going to cost big $/pounds). There are many better/more modern alternatives (as far as lighting is concerned) and, if done properly, they'd probably cost less in the long run - but wouldn't be proper Porsche parts...

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you kindly for the positive comments! The next task is the Panamericana harness bar - let me tell you in the UK these things are extremely difficult to source. Even more difficult was sourcing the fixing kit, I tried several OPC in the UK who could not help and had no clue; I ended up getting the bolts from suncoast in the USA, so these are very well traveled bolts - from Germany to the USA and then back to the UK - not a cheap ride either after taxes in each country, shipping fee's and finally import duty to get back here again - but at least I have them now!

POST 8Original post

OMG, this car is gorgeous! Love that it is aero (which is relatively rare but its white which is even rarer but then its a PTS white...its a unicorn! Congrats and thanks for sharing. Make sure you keep the body integrity intact and don't modify. ITs beautiful as is. With my aero, I have virtually changed all the mechanicals but left the external stock...wolf in sheeps clothing. Also, agree with the earlier comment....get some litronics, that jumped at at me as well.. Once again, stunning.

POST 9Original post

Awesome! The teenager within me wants that car on a poster. It’s BEAUTIFUL.

POST 11Original post

Car looks great, gonna check out some vids before bed tonight!

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I guess i'm speaking with a bias audience, but i'll take it - thank you so much for the positive comments on the car! Here's a few more photos

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Finally got my Panamericana bar fitted! It was a bit of a struggle, that is until I took the advice here on Rennlist to use studs and clean out the threads! Looks brilliant once in the car. I also made a video of the install process, which will hopefully make it easier for others fitting cages - I'll post that below You Tube
