Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

half the problem is figuring how to get german plastic thingys apart.
Leading evidence: 'figuring how' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'figuring how' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Install uaos' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought a cheap manometer and measured 4 inches water at idle. if you had too little vacuum, it could only mean there's a leak somewhere right? It has a new AOS
This sounds familiar. I tested mine and was recording ~3.8. So I borrowed a friends smoke machine, and I had a leak through an old o ring in the brake booster assembly. That black piece of flex hose that looks like it comes to a nozzle right above the alternator. It was leaking quite a bit. Not a smokescreen, but enough to know it needed work.
I ordered a new o ring, and will install and retest this weekend.
If the leak was tiny then it won't make a difference how the engine runs, especially when is not idling. The amount of air an engine consumes when compared to the amount that comes out from a tiny leak are pretty much statistically insignificant. An engine draws the most (most that makes a difference to the running of the engine) vacuum at idle so as soon as the throttle opens the vacuum goes down as so does that leak but the air consumption rate goes way up. So tiny leaks are not really a problem unless it is at the air oil separator.
His is at the swivel joint.

His is the plastic piece deep inside the plastic piece that the corrugated hose connects to.

There are two types, an early one that doesn't come apart, and a later that does.
If there is a gray clip, remove it with a pick.
Then push down on the black lip(and hold it down) and then pull up on the corrugated hose.
The arrow is pointing to the black lip you need to hold down.
If yours is missing the grey clip like

I'm not sure how this joint can make a good seal. Far as I can tell, there's only a hard plastic o ring doing the job of sealing. Mine was all grimy. I bought new one Probably a waist of money
