Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also am doing some things with my 220 but it involved removing a "bypass" that replaces the CD player with a audio plug.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone- In the process of a small winter project of removing the aftermarket double din unit from my 996, removing the lower console and installing the oem radio and climate back up top and a GT3 delete down below. I found a used replacement bezel since the one in my car was modified for the double din. Putting everything back together as the rest of my parts show up this week. ive done some searching but everything I find is removing the oem 220 and not replacing the 220. I thought that it would just slide right in and the tabs would lock it but this feels like it wont fit the din opening at all. Hopefully its something silly, but anyone ever experience this? Tried to take a pic. Lining it up and it slides in maybe a couple millimeters and I dont want to push much harder for fear of snapping the surround. Any ideas?

POST 2Original post

Can't help, but let me know if you're going to throw out the aftermarket unit. Thx.

POST 4Original post

It's been a while since I've removed my CDR220, but I remember it being a super tight fit. Do you have the removal tool in case you need to pull it back out?

POST 5Original post

I also am doing some things with my 220 but it involved removing a "bypass" that replaces the CD player with a audio plug. I now am not sure what wires to use and which to cut out. Any pictures that may help me?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ended up removing the whole bezel and wiggling the radio in that way. My gt3 delete and trim piece for the climate showed up today from suncoast so hopefully this weekend I can find time to install it all.
