Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok guys I could use some help here. I'll be dropping my transmission this weekend and pulling it apart (6speed) so I can rebuild it. Does any one know the part numbers for the bearings. It has been whining since I bought the car, but this last road trip took its toll on it and it's really loud when off throttle but quite on load. I will do clutch while Its out too.149k miles on it and from what I know it's original. Thanks Jeff I'll post pictures of it apart when I get that far.

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok guys. Good news and bad. Transmission is out and it wasn't that bad of a job. Good news it is the bearings going bad but all the teeth inside look good no real wear. And it does have the Lsd as it should per option codes. The bad, besides needing bearings the pinion gear is pitted bad, ring gear looks good still I know they both have to be replaced. So where or who do I get the ring and pinion from or what is the best choice? Replace the whole transmission or fix what I have. Any and all ideas are welcome. Pics to be loaded up later.

POST 3Original post

Gbox ( www.gboxweb.com ) is one of the better known companies that services Porsche transmissions and they have a selection of parts, including ring and pinion gears, listed for sale on their website. If they don't have what you need, they might be able to direct you to where to source what you're looking for. Good luck!
