Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It really irritates me that I did not get to see the make of the car, but it was very low, I think it had a red car makers decal on the bonnet (maybe a bit curved) and it had horizontal plastic lines running through the tail lights.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

What better way than to celebrate the Swiss national day by taking the 996 C4S on a trip up in the mountains and crossing into Italy...
Drove to Stresa which is situated on the shore of Lago Maggiore and drove back 2 days later via Grimsel Pass which lies between the Cantons of Bern and Wallis. Amazing scenery and super enjoyable driving in a proper car ;-)
I'm still pretty amazed over the power the car has when driving up hill... It doesn't feel like there is any difference in the acceleration between flat and uphill (maybe a tad slower up hill) but it's in conditions like these (winding roads) that you really feel how fantastic it handles.
This is honestly the best buy I have ever made and I still smile every single time I turn the ignition and hit the winding roads.
HAPPY SUMMER and let's see your summer photos...
Now why did you have to go and post these pictures. They are absolutely stunning. I have been on the fence rather or not to ship our car for a European staycation. We are currently looking at house sitting jobs in Europe for a few months and have been toying with the idea of bringing our car. Well this did it, thanks a lot, lol. Cheers
Outstanding!
I've got a European driving vacation coming up at the end of September. I have rented a new 991 (I reserved a C4S, but I won't know for sure until I get there) to drive through Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Austria for a week. I'll post some photos from Stelvio Pass!
We're planning for some time in St. Moritz and Grindelwald on the trip. Beautiful country...
Driving up the Grimsel Pass there was a pretty smashed up (and very expensive looking car - driver seemed OK as he was sitting one of the police cars giving a statement)... It really irritates me that I did not get to see the make of the car, but it was very low, I think it had a red car makers decal on the bonnet (maybe a bit curved) and it had horizontal plastic lines running through the tail lights. Was it a Jaguar XJ-220 (looked like it but the manufacture's emblem was not quite right)? Maybe an american muscle car BUT it looked too European if it makes sense.
The rear left tire had come off so I think he must have taken a corner a bit too hard...
So, if any one of you are going driving in any of the pass' PLEASE TAKE CARE and there's a very good reason why they have warning sign's set up. I would HATE to see a 911 in the same state as the mystery smashed up car...
Dennis, might I ask through which agency are you renting the 991. We have a European vacation planned for this Spring. We would highly consider this. Last Christmas (2013 ) we rented a Peugeot. My wife found it quite amusing, I on the other hand could only envy all the P-cars whipping about on the Autobahn at warp speed. At one point a 997 came by so fast and close it almost suck us in it's wake.lol
Hey mate
If you are going to the region, check it out Furkapass and Grimselpass.
You can do both on the same morning.
Two of the most beautiful road in Switzerland.
I can garantee you wont regret the experience.
Furkapass is nice. I've done that one before.
Bernard - I gave rented the car from Avis in Stuttgart. It's very easy. They do make you sign a contract that prohibits taking the car on the Nrburgring. The penalty is steep if you're caught, and the track photographs the license plate of every car that enters the ring. I won't be doing that!
Frank,
We will be landing in Geneva in mid September for about a 10 day trip and plan to drive around Switzerland, Italy and France. If you have any can't miss places to see, to eat, or routes, please PM me with advice. Thanks.

We have a yearly Summer tradition of taking 8 or so 911's for a Euro road trip, this years was as good as usual and we headed for Vienna from the UK.
We passed through France, Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland en route, the views in the Dolomites are some of the best you will see and the Italian police are almost happy to see you giving it some.
Anyway, a random selection of my pics from this year.

Beautiful pics, I have to put this on my bucket list, Europe-Porsche power trip, what else do you want??
Frank--Thanks for the post. When I was with TWA, we laid over at Baveno on the lake just up the road from Stresa. Beautiful area. Brought back a lot of memories.
Have fun!
