Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
I'd love to paint the inside of the rim so I don't have to clean the brake dust between the spokes every couple days.

Nice finish, I can agree with you, the plastic dip items does not make for a clean look on wheels.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Plasti Dipped my wheels today. First time I have ever used the stuff. I wanted to see what my car would look like with anthracite gray wheels. Laid down 2 coats of matt black and two coats of silver metalizer. Pretty neat stuff. No need to mask anything, you can peel away what you don't want.
Jacket the brand is plasti dip. I used the standard matt black and silver metalizer. Both can be found at Pepboys. Check out this link and it will walk you through the process.

Thanks all for the positive comments. Such a drastic change from the standard silver. I was on the fence about keeping the color. Based on the comments I think I'll keep it on. Hopefully, it will fair a bit better with to the brake dust. It was a constant battle on the silver. Anyone had experience with plasti dipped wheels on the track? I have seen cars dipped but don't believe I have seen wheels. Hoping the extra heat generated doesn't cause it to peel off.
Looks great, I've been pondering the idea of doing a gold color for my red 996 Aero coupe (same wheels as yours); just something cheap, fun and if it looks bad, reversible.
I always paint my inside barrels black if they are silver. In addition to hiding the brake dust, it makes the design of lighter color wheels pop out more without the background distraction.
Some manufacturers already do this from the factory like some BBS wheels. My Beyern's for my Bimmer that I bought recently were also coated.
one word to wise...plastidip doesn't survive tire replacements if you dip up to the tire. If you dip just the middle and leave the lip factory, like the poster did, this is desirable and should last a while
I know this through experience...it simply will not make it unscathed.
Its a cool product, I just did it a few days ago, but after the lip material tore i decided forget it and bought different wheels. BTW I let the dip cure for 48 hours...so i feel like it had enough cure time. Maybe not ideal...but i talked to people with dips done weeks prior and theirs tore too...just fyi
Yep no way around it...so you buy the "dissolver" they sell and smooth down the area that has started to peel from tire mount/dismount and touchup spray
I disagree. It's only durable as long as you don't get any break in the coating. Once an area is chipped or damaged in anyway, you gotta coat it or else the area around it will slowly lift over time. Ask me how I know...
I gave it a try but it wasn't for me for anything long term. I would rather spend the extra on paint, vinyl, or even hydrographics before doing plastidip again. I can certainly appreciate it on other people's cars or for short term temporary situations though.
Hydrographic example:
Nice finish, I can agree with you, the plastic dip items does not make for a clean look on wheels. There is no way you can compare to the quality of a good refinishing job.
To the naysayers, Jeep people having been offroading in dipped wheels for years and have not had any peeling. And it costs $37 to do all four wheels, so comparing it to the price of new wheels is ridiculous. And no, it does not look as good as a $700 wheel paint job, surprise, surprise.
Not sure what you consider offroading, but Plastidip has a pretty terrible reputation among "Jeep people." It doesn't do too well in the rocks or the gulches. Duplicolor wheel paint requires a little more prep, but would be the same money as Plastidip and is a whole lot more durable.
Gratuitous Jeep screen grab from my old Rubi...
