Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Guys I am getting torque values all over the place. From pelican I got 25 foot pounds of torque from LN engineering I got 7.5 foot pounds of torque and from Bentley publishing I got 9 foot pounds of torque. Which one should I use for the pelican kit?

POST 2Original post

What fastener are you talking about - the three small bolts that hold the cover in place, or the center-shaft nut? 25 seems close for the shaft nut, and 9 for the cover bolts. Both may be correct.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

For the shaft bolt, the 12 point bolt. LN Engineering say 7.5 lbs which is the factory torque spec, but Pelican says 24 lbs maximum. Why would Pelican bearing take much more preload?
