Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

On a '99-'01 3.4L 996.1, were the optional 18" wheels 18x8 & 18x10 or were they 18x7.5 & 18x10 or were both available?
I've read it both ways, but want to know if anyone here knows for sure.

Yes, Porsche has a TSB on stock tires and wheels.
The Carrera wheels, the turbo look 1 and 2 all came in 8 inch wide fronts. The turbo look 1 and 2also came in 7.5 inch fronts. FWIW, you could get 11 rears on the narrow body also but you have to roll the fenders
According to Porsche TSB 4440, the fender lip and rear spoiler, if necessary, must be reworked on vehicles up to and including model year 2001 for rear tire widths of 285mm or 295mm. That's the reason for the comments by dgjks6. The TSB gives details on how to properly rework the fender to ensure that there isn't any rubbing on the tires.
To be clear, he's asking about FACTORY options. Did they leave the factory with 8's and 10's or were they dealer installed? The tsb makes me think they we're probably dealer since I can't imagine they would put 11's on the rear from the factory that rubbed the rear fenders and expect dealers to roll the fenders. The real question though is were 8" wide fronts available from the factory? Anyone know of a bulletin or sales brochure that shows them as an option?
