This is not a probability of success.

I am curious: how many people upgrade their insurance to cover replacement since prices have started to increase for a 996 or adjusted coverage because of the work performed on your car, especially those who have purchased a Flat Six or rebuilt and upgraded their engines?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 2Original post

Unless you have an agreed value policy I highly doubt an insurance company will look at an FSI or any engine rebuild as a premium and cover it's value. To them an engine is an engine.

POST 4Original post

Engine, brakes, tires...hmmmm...even agreed value insurance will not cover these components. Never has and never will.

I could be wrong here but I think the OP is NOT looking for coverage on any individual components. More so a situation where you sank a large sum of money into the car via rebuilds/upgrades and in your eyes the car is now worth more as whole. That's where agreed value policy comes in and pays out the agreed to amount in case your car was to be totaled. Those policies typically have some sort of limitations and requirements although Porsche now offers a similar insurance option with agreed value where you pay by miles driven.

POST 6Original post

That's my understanding as well. Or at least what Porsche Insurance covers. Don't know if it's the same with Hagery. After taking a bath on my 2003 Audi S8 when it was totaled, I learned my lesson.

POST 7Original post

I have guaranteed value on my 996 with Hagerty. if I put in a FS rebuild darn straight I would up that value to cover it.

POST 8Original post

In upped the value on my wife’s car with Hagerty after installing a FSI engine

POST 9Original post

Just switched mine to an agreed value with Grundy today.

POST 10Original post

Porsche insurance is the way to go …..in fl at least it was half the price of Usaa which was shocking to me and I still have 70% of my assets covered with Usaa. Porsche insurance made too much sense with the miles and usage. They will cover all your other ehickes as well as long as you have one Porsche as the master.- scrh1
