I checked the right turn signal and it appeared to work but at the next turn it also stopped (no light on dash and no clicking).

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

3) I pulled the hazard switch and took it apart to clean it, and re-instlled to no change (picking up a new one today just in case).
Hello all. I'm looking for help / advise with my no turn signals, and hazard lights not working.
I have a 2003 C4S. The problem is my turn signals will not flash when I select left or right turn on the stalk (No audible clicking from relay either). Also my hazard light switch does not function either.
1) I have checked all the bulbs on the car and they all are OK.
2) I checked the turn signsl relay and it is OK. Tested it on another family members 996 C4S.
3) I pulled the hazard switch and took it apart to clean it, and re-instlled to no change (picking up a new one today just in case).
4)) if i lock the car with the window down, then reach in and open the door the alarm activates with flashing indicators (but no horn???) So they do work with the alarm.
Only other points that could possibly have effect is 1) no steering wheel air bag currenty installed, and 2) my key fob (button functions) is no longer synced to the car however it runs and drives, locks unlocks fine. Just giving "all info".
Has anyone had similar probem? Does anyone have some advice for me to go to next?
Thanks,
Michael
My hazard switch took a dump and I had the exact symptoms you had. Remove the switch, jumper the pins (believe A3 and A6 are the front turn signals) to ground and see if your turn signals work.
here's the wiring diagram link (sheet #1 - block A11) to trace the hazard switch wiring. Thanks again to

Thanks guys for your input.
I was really scratching my head with this one !!
Updated as Fixed.
after working my way through...
1) checking all fuses
2) replacing flasher relay (new)
3) replacing hazard switch (new)
4) replacing turn signsl stalk (used)
5) ordering new main light switch (not needed)
I was taking e30rapidic's advice and jumping the pins at the hazard light dash socket, when I notched the socket didn't look right. Turns out someone has been into the instrument cluster dash, and has not reassembled it correctly. The hazard light wiring socket was not seated in its correct position on the left side.(see first pic). So when the hazard light switch is installed, not all 8 blades were making contact.
Once I released the instrument cluster dash, slid the hazard light socket into the correct position (second pic), and reinstalled the cluster dash. The hazard light installed correctly and bingo.... indicator lights are fixed !
Thanks again for the input guys.
Also, how do I edit the thread title to show "fixed"?
Just found this post while researching..... Today while at a traffic light I engaged my left turn signal. It started to blink and click like normal but then stopped. I moved the stock back to the middle (off) then pressed down again for left. It blinked a couple of times then stopped. I repeated the stalk (back to center then down for left) and nothing happened. I checked the right turn signal and it appeared to work but at the next turn it also stopped (no light on dash and no clicking). Now both signals don't work. I tried the emergency flashers and they don't work either but when I disengage the emergency flashers both turn signal lights on the dash flash and the emergency light switch flashes, but no external lights flash. 2004 C4S. I found it weird that the turn signal dash lights only flash when I disengage the emergency light button (off).....
Should I remove the emergency flasher switch? Just curious if anyone else has seen this happen and can advise. I've never used the emergency flashers but I understand that the turn signals route through that switch. Suggestions? Thanks.
First of all thanks for adding closure. It will certainly be helpful to someone in the future. Secondly, go back and edit the first post. There will be a place where you can edit the title.
