Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I will say that when I got my 996 1 I had a slight ticking from the passenger side as well but I changed the oil and at the same time added some ceratec, the problem went away.

(Edit) Disregard the below, looks like there another thread. @Faustino I think you might not be getting answers simply because you'll need to do diagnosis in detail. You can use a stethoscope thing to identify exactly where the noise is coming from. It could be water pump, it could be a lifter, there's just not easy answer I'm afraid. I will say that when I got my 996 1 I had a slight ticking from the passenger side as well but I changed the oil and at the same time added some ceratec, the problem went away. I've no idea how that the extra additive would help, it may have just been the oil change. To say an additive will help an engine is simplistic and optimistic I'm afraid. Heres a search they might help you, a Google search for ' rennlist.com 996 ticking right side '. Good luck with your diagnosis. Your sound file didn't get uploaded to your post fyi. I hope this helps!
