My anecdotal experience,,, I've replaced lots of cracked old coil packs on all types of engines, once installed like above, never had one fail/crack again....

"What happened here?" Maybe not fully seated squarely, then over tightened, maybe unevenly..? Or just age, take your pick. Or a combination of above. No matter the reason for failure, new ones should have a very very small amount of dielectric grease spread evenly(not too much..! ) on plug, then hand fitted till it seats fully, then gently tightened down evenly to just barely snug, not 20 ft lbs. Remember these are just plastic and can't take a lot of clamping force. The upgraded coil packs have a thicker/taller/beefier bolt hole bore. My anecdotal experience,,, I've replaced lots of cracked old coil packs on all types of engines, once installed like above, never had one fail/crack again.... jmo
