Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Doesn't feel like clutch slipping (the RPM doesn't change).
Leading evidence: 'Replace )' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace )' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

In replacing the alternator, the arm with the bushing broke...the bushing was very difficult to move, and I hit it with some PB blaster, but apparently it was stuck enough that trying to pull it back in when re-installing was enough.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am having this issue where there is a "hiccup" when WOT, but only at highway speed. Seems not to happen in 1st or 2nd gear. When accelerating on the highway in 3rd/4th (maybe 5th but speeds are already frightfully illegal in 4th) I get a momentary jerk with no acceleration. Lasts for 1/2 second maybe?
Doesn't feel like clutch slipping (the RPM doesn't change). Fuel? Air? Spark?
Car has new (within last 5000km) coils, MAF. Within last 10,000 km new injectors, clutch and flywheel.
2002 4S with ~100,000 miles on it (163,000 km). Otherwise drives fine. No pending codes, good power, etc.
Any ideas where to start? Measurements to take?
U probably need to find someone to "log" the event with a durametric or advanced scan tool. Basically pick a half dozen perameters and graph them while trying to recreate the issue. I would start with misfire or knock, maf, tps, crank signal.
Also u may want to hook a fuel guage up with an extended hose so u can read it while driving to make sure its not a pump issue
U should see a line that says "actual cam value" or similar. On my Autel scanner its right under the cam deviation. It will jump at or around 4k rpm (not sure the actual value) should go up around 30*, this is when the variocam kicks in.
So...I am pretty sure that it was the result of a broken vacuum line in the plenum flap system. So I went in and fixed that. Test drive seemed to confirm it. Pulled like I have never remembered.
However,

I have another alternator on order. Is there a trick to installing it without trashing it?
