I have checked all of the fuses, tried jumping it with a jumper box and my truck and still get the same result.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay, I wouldn't be posting here unless I absolutely had to. I have followed all online instructions for jumping the battery. I have checked all of the fuses, tried jumping it with a jumper box and my truck and still get the same result. Once I hookup the jumper cables all I get is the horn going off like it's in protection mode and not allowing any power to get to the rest of the vehicle. If I put the key in the ignition, I get no power at all, no power to unlock the doors or illuminate the dash or turn on the ignition. Besides taking a crowbar to the frunk, what other options do I have? All I want to do is get to the damn frunk! Whoever designed this setup needs a swift kick in the ***.

What model do you have? Have you looked for the manual release cable in the driver's side wheel well? (From Google AI Some Porsche models have a manual release cable located behind the front wheel well liner on the driver's side. You may need to turn the wheel outward or partially remove the liner to access it. Once you have located the manual release cable (usually a small pull cable), give it a firm tug to release the hood.

POST 3Original post

Are you using the jump points in the engine bay?

POST 4Original post

Were it I, I would remove the driver's seat and unplug the immobilizer. Then jump power and ground to the frunk latch release. When the frunk is open disconnect the battery. Then replace the ignition switch.

POST 5Original post

You need to turn OFF the Alarm System... If you CANNOT turn off the Alarm System, you are in deep S**t !!..(even with a fresh battery)

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My ride is a 2004 Carrera Base. I have no access to the engine bay either since both are on the same switch and both electric. Yes, the alarm seems to be going off right when it gets power from the battery but still no power shows anywhere in the vehicle. 1. Could be the ignition switch, doubtful as it worked fine when I parked it. The key fob however has never worked and needs to be taken to the dealer to get fixed. 2. Deep sh*t, even with a fresh battery if I can't get the alarm off. Yes, this is why I am reaching out to you guys for some suggestions. If you want to explain more I wouldn't mind. I can give a look under the seat to disable the immobilizer. Where is the best place to jump power to the trunk release wiring? I assume it's not at the switch and elsewhere in the vehicle possibly behind the fuse panel. Any help would be appreciated. Also tried hooking up a charge to the cigarette lighter with no power still after as a last resort but knew that wouldn't make a difference. Before I go pulling panels off, can anyone confirm if I have this manual release cable in the driver side wheel well?

POST 7Original post

@Noticz , sorry about your dilemma. Plenty of threads and videos on YouTube about it. When you get it sorted, consider routing the cable so you know where it is and it works. Something else to thing about if you garage the car. Pop the frunk when it sits in the garage. I have been doing it for over 20 years with my 2002 to eliminate the PITA exercise we all eventually have to go thru. One more thing to think about, the ignition switch has a tendency to go slowly and then all at once, while the head light swight will go suddenly. But they will all eventually fail from age and use. Same with the oil sender unit which will scare the hell out of you when it first appears. All easy fixes.

POST 8Original post

The engine bay lid also has an emergency release cable located underneath the left tail light. Use a small wedge to create a gap between the bumper and tail light. Use a flash light and look under the light. You can usually use a hook, such as a bent coat hanger, to pull it out and release the engine lid hatch. That gives you access to the main jumper points in the engine bay. You need a 12V battery or jump from another vehicle to get enough juice to power things up. Good luck.

POST 9Original post

My engine hatch emergency cable was taped to the inside of the panel at the rear of the taillight. I had to remove the tail light, pull the cable forward, and rest it just inside the bottom of the taillight. I keep a 'J' shaped piece of metal in the car to pull it out and open the compartment if the need arises. I know where it is, but someone else would have a hard time finding it. t.If this car has it taped to the back like mine was it will be hard to fish it out.
