Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

1999 & older test emissions, 2000 & newer check the DME for readiness & tampering.
Leading evidence: 'Check dme' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check dme' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Wait, Cuda- you have the ROW flash on your California 996 (3.6?) and passed the new smog check that ONLY includes checking readiness monitors?!

I am running this flash on my 03 right now to avoid the CEL for no SAI, and assumed the smog check would surely throw a flag for that readiness check to be missing completely.

My friend had a prius that failed visual because the cat failed and his repair shop welded in an aftermarket cat with no EO number.

But the ROW 2 O2 sensor flash does not monitor the post O2 sensors, and therefore it would not be able to set the catalyst efficiency status which is the most important to emissions?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Ive done a bunch of looking around and cant find the actual answers i looking for
I can find tuning shops that want $600-$1600 for a tune, some want extra to buy odb port adapter, some want me to mail my ecu in and deal with down time.
Im not looking for a tune per say but all i want to do is code out the SAI, I know there is a way to code out the secondary air injection system, including the air pump, readiness check and post cat o2 sensors. And i know most race cars run this software.
Is there any way to get this done for a few hundred dollars instead of a thousand?
any idea where to get those? My local dealership has only been around for like 10 years and Im not sure if they would even know where to start. Ill give them a call on Monday when they open again.
i have the block off kit already but dont want the check engine light on my dash that comes along with just removing it.
I have no worries about any sort of smog testing. Its the Wild West up where I am in Canada, we have no testing of any sort.
So how much did any of you pay for your ROW flashs?

luckily I can just program back and forth as needed and set readiness. But if I can avoid so many programming opportunities for my DME to glitch/fail that would be fantastic.
For all those wondering, I notice no extra power with european tune....including the difference 100 octane made before flash compared to after flash.
Yes I agree I assumed this is not an option- the 99 should have still been run on a dyno, no? I guess it depends on county. But the ROW 2 O2 sensor flash does not monitor the post O2 sensors, and therefore it would not be able to set the catalyst efficiency status which is the most important to emissions?
i always wondered if the readiness option was just missing out of the program what the smog computer would think
you have a very friendly smog guy
while all systems may display things differently, in general this is what the obd2 will read out:
everything is now automated on OBD2 cars, there's no interjection, that I know of, from smog guys. They just plug in the obd2 computer and it automatically chats with the cars ECU to see if readiness has been set.
And this is just the readiness monitors, then there's also the visual inspection by the smog inspector - this part they can be lazy about but in general, they will look for the emissions sticker to know what components your car has and will see if all the components are present. My friend had a prius that failed visual because the cat failed and his repair shop welded in an aftermarket cat with no EO number.
I downloaded the piwis and found the section on mcr programming but it doesn’t tell you what any of the manual codes are. Anyone have a list of the codes that need to be edited?
