Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Noticed a bunch of foam behind the alternator (see pics). Any idea where this is coming from? Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Rodents? I just went through there replacing alternator, AOS, vacuum lines, etc. There is no foam like that. There are however stories of rodents nesting on top of the engine.

POST 3Original post

The foam pad above the engine is made of that stuff. Either it is falling apart or some creature is making it fall apart.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Must have been an old rodent nest. Cleaned it out and all is good.

I felt this earlier post addressed a very plausible option, no?

Mouse heard all the stories of loose foam in the AC vents and decided to not only capitalize for his own gain, but save OP the hassle of pulling the climate control/dash to remove himself.
