I thought about using my mom's family Tartan, but not sure this would go the best with a black interior

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have any pics of the sport seats custom done in a black/white houndstooth pattern, more specifically in a 996? Love the look of this in Porsche's and am thinking about doing it to my sport seats. Additionally, any drawbacks to getting it done? I have heated seats too...

POST 2Original post

I've been wondering the same thing. I have a Natural Brown interior so I wonder if it would look good or look out of place.

POST 3Original post

Someone here has done it and it looked pretty good.

POST 4Original post

I'm interested to see what routes may be possible. Love the look and the grip of the fabric seats.

POST 5Original post

I really like that look! I may do that to my car. I hope its waterproof though.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, who's the lucky member that has this done to their 996? Everyone is patiently waiting!!!! Lol

POST 7Original post

This one on Pcarmarket had a nicely-executed version https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2...che-996-coupe/

😳 thats nice! I think it would look good in grey/black too!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh! This is a perfect example and all I needed to see. Interesting they did the back seats and more specifically the lower cushion, too. Don't think the back is necessary, but still looks nice. Clicking through further and they wrapped the spare tire cover too! Ha

I have an all black interior so was thinking a black/white houndstooth for the front seats... Now I'm sold on it.

Couldn't help but think of this...

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So who knows of a good automotive interior shop in NJ?

POST 13Original post

I like it, tasteful change to the interior. I could live without the red seatbelts. Im partial to the pascha interiors. Really want to do some way back, do some tartan.

Ha, took me a second to understand your comparison, but the image I posted seems to be a gingham pattern rather than houndstooth. Porsche picnic time!!!

POST 15Original post

How about the 991R @Idaho911 Brown and houndstooth combo.

That's kind of a neat idea. My Tartan is a little more subdued and even has some gray in it to match the rest of my interior. Still might be a bit much though. There's a 944 guy that brings his car with a tartan theme to our local PCA events. And an e28 buddy of mine went for Tartan in one car. And full Houndstooth in his other e28.

POST 19Original post

Those patterns scream 1980's. As such they are fantastically perfect in a 944 or an E28 (or a 928!). I had a Scirocco Mk2 that had blue houndstooth cloth which I thought was perfect for that car.

POST 20Original post

Quotes source post: 17445420

Any pics of the Scirocco? (And BTW, I think the car I was calling a 944 was actually a 924. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in)

POST 21Original post

I haven't seen a Scirocco in years, I think they all rusted away here in the Northeast. I Like the tartan and houndstooth in those BMW's.

POST 22Original post

Quotes source post: 17445543

Yes, that's a 924. I don't have any pictures of my Scirocco. I sold it in 1989. However I did spy this on on Craigslist a year or two ago that is almost exactly what mine looked like: My interior was the same shade of blue. Instead of plaid it had blue & white houndstooth check cloth inserts on the seats and door panels. Oh, I was sorely tempted to buy that Scirocco, but I have four Corrados and two 996's and a first-generation Datsun Z. Scirocco parts are even harder to find than Corrado parts. So I passed on it. Some day I will have another.

POST 23Original post

Looks like one that I used to have. I eventually turned it into an SCCA GT3 race car.

POST 24Original post

I’ve had several Sciroccos. Here’s my SCCA ITC Scirocco:

make sure it's automotive grade fabric as it will fade quickly if it isn't.
