I recently purchased a 2000 996 and have developed an issue where the passenger (right) window will not drop when opening/closing the door. The car also double-beeps when unlocking. I've searched online and have narrowed it down to either a window microswitch, door latch, or door lock actuator. Unfortunately I do not have access to a scanner to pull the code which is why I am here. If no luck then I will have to drop the couple hundred on a scanner. Symptoms: Both doors unlock/lock without issues Double beep upon unlocking Passenger (right) window does not drop when pulling interior and exterior handles.. does not move if I try to manually push it. No window motor noise is made when testing the drop.. IE only the small "click" from the handle reaching the threshold to activate.. No motor noise. The window regulators were replaced in 2024.. All windows work as they should when using the interior switches and convertible top operation. I'm thinking it has to be something with the door lock due to the double-beep... and the window not working for door operation. Ideally if someone could provide a part number or thread on a possible fix. I've searched but most others seem to have latch issues that I don't think this is related to (could be wrong). TYIA

You need to get the $75 PIWIS ( Quick search in here for $75 PIWPS ) and make it functional..... You can then test each micro-switch and latch and command functions of the system...Most "scanners" will not do this ...
