Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm getting ready to order Michelin PS4s for a 1999 c2 cabrio. The current tires fronts are ozone/load cracking and rears are some no name cheap brand. OEM 18 inch twist rims. Original sizes for the 99 are 225/40/18 and 265/35/18 From what I've researched 235/40/18 and 285/35/18s should fit correct? Is there a better size or should i add more diameter so speedo is accurate (reads 5mph high at 70) Seems like everyone adds a bit more rubber to these. Just wanted to ask before I spend $1k on tires. Read through a lot of different threads on tire sizes and fitment Gene

POST 2Original post

I use 225's in the front on my 03 C2 Coupe w/18" OEM wheels. It's what the owner's manual says to use. I would stay with that size. My speedometer is about 2 mph higher than what a GPS says. From what I've heard that's normal for Porsche.

POST 3Original post

I just bought PS All Season 4's at Costco in March for my 996.1 Cab that the prior owner had switched to Carrera Mk2 rims: 225/40/18 (8" rims) and 275/35/18 (10" rims). I think stock was 7" and 9"?. We tried 235's but they did rub enough that I just decided to keep it stock. I had the option of 285's or 275's in the back and I opted for the smaller because there would have been a 1" (4%) front to back difference with the 285's. With my current set up the f/r difference is only 1/2" and the speedo is over by just 1mph. If you are ok with the front's rubbing, or molding the liner, I think you will be fine with the sizes you are looking at as many others have installed those sizes. I spent more time than ever before trying to get the "right" size & look. Look to tiresize.com for their f/r visualizer. Also, I think Costco still has $110 off on all Michelin's.
