Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Past being just super sticky now I can squeeze them and they get distorted. So I ordered new ones from Becker and there sticky out of the bag! Infact one I had a hard time getting out. Now here's my question. Has anyone painted them or covered them with some kind of product? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I still have my original CDR220 and don't have any problems like that. I would contact Becker and see what they say.

POST 3Original post

I used Performix Plasti Dip multi-purpose rubber coating, black color. I used about four light coatings and they came out great, no stickiness. Mine were really sticky so this was a great, cheap way to fix them. Hope this helps!

POST 4Original post

I used Plasti dip on mine and they really do come out well. See the link below for a DIY. http://www.pedrosgarage.com/Site_3/F...o_Buttons.html Matt

POST 5Original post

I washed mine, then after they dried, I put them in a baggie with some Talc. Shake to coat, brush off excess. The Talc sticks and leaves a matte finish. I did this a year ago, and they are still matte and non-sticky.

you can get new ***** here: http://www.beckerautosound.com/

I'm in Stuart visiting my Dad, weather has been great compared to Maine.

POST 11Original post

I just found out the hard way... NEVER use an oil based interior cleaner or conditioner on these *****... it will just happen again.

POST 12Original post

I had the same issue with sticky *****. I now have aluminum billet covers that glue over the old *****. They are in different anodized colors. You can contact me if you are interested in getting some. [email removed]

POST 13Original post

Best solution is to lose that terrible unit and buy a better one. I am still amazed at how much changing the head unit improved my stereo's sound! Now my CDR-220 sits on a shelf, ***** melting and all!

You mean, exactly like he already did, hence the reason for this post?

POST 18Original post

There is a virus in that beckerautosound link. My AVG blocked it.

POST 19Original post

I went old school because I wasn't paying $25.00 per ****. I wiped each **** with acetone, then spay painted them with black paint. 3 or 4 coats. They look like new, are not sticky and work well

POST 20Original post

You could also Plastidip them if you want a similiar grippy texture.

POST 22Original post

I just pulled mine off and wiped the sticky mess crap off, washed them up really good and put them back on, no more mess, and the paint looks fine on them.
