I know the double din classic PCM is meant for the 996 and single din for 993 and earlier 911's, but am wondering if anyone has tried to use the single din classic PCM in their 996.

I know the double din classic PCM is meant for the 996 and single din for 993 and earlier 911's, but am wondering if anyone has tried to use the single din classic PCM in their 996. I want to do the centre console delete and then will only have room for the HVAC and a single din radio. Unfortunately the Function first centre console riser kit which allowed a double din radio and the HVAC is no longer made. I think I prefer the single din look in a 996 as well. Can the single din PCCM be used with the 996?

Thanks guys. that's a very nice looking car on BAT. I'll go ahead with the console delete and aim to get the single din PCCM, although i might try and put it above the HVAC.

I was at the dealer today getting some small parts and I asked the parts guy if he's sold a lot of them and he said not really.I asked why the single din isn't listed for a 996 and he said they spec the + for the all 996s and if you don't have nav, they sell you all the trim pieces to convert yours to a dual din set up.I found that interesting
