Hi folks - when I purchased my 2003 Targa, I swear the top would open fully with 'one touch' (press of the open button). My sun shade still does this, but the glass top itself does not. However, it opens and closes properly if I hold the button. I don't know if there's a reset procedure (can't seem to find any details) or if this is a hardware failure?

Thanks @sgara - I'm fairly certain (actually, certain because I remember watching it, I'm sure) - like the sunshade and the power windows, a single press (quickly) of the open/close button for the top would automatically retract the top all the way (and the same to close). I may have to check with the dealership (but even they now don't know these cars all that well in many places).

One could always check the Owner's Manual. It clearly indicates that one touch is available for the sun shade, but not for opening or closing the glass targa roof according to my copy of the 2003 manual.

Indeed, I must be losing it - I'd swear it opened automatically. Thanks @AP328 - my car was sold without the manual alas (I'd googled but didn't find a 996 version).
