If there is an Active leak/Dripping then it should be replaced ( but still is not necessarily a sign of failure)

Hey all, I had a UAOS installed a few years ago on my car. I popped the deck lid recently and noticed what looks like a film of oil on the bottom of the PCV valve piece. Has anyone seen this before? Time to replace this valve?

A little oiliness/weep/seep from the flow regulator is not a sign of failure and is OK.. If there is an Active leak/Dripping then it should be replaced ( but still is not necessarily a sign of failure) That design flow regulator by VW/Audi can be snapped apart for inspection or diaphragm replacement and snapped back together..so is not "permanently" sealed ...

It looks like the PCV is rubbing on your engine lid as well. I see a mark on it. Its a tight fit in there.
