Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

howdy, I've been lurking here a while, but finally joined up. here's my 996.2 80K miles (though Porsche replaced engine at 45K due to I think a cracked engine case) Car is pretty standard apart from the new spoiler

POST 2Original post

GLWS! Post a side profile shot with the top down. Curious to see the lines with the aero kit.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

will do, as soon as weather improves

POST 4Original post

I like the licence plate! Why do U.S. plates look so lame in comparison?

Welcome! Love the car. Glad to hear you got everything fixed up with it. If you're at all a DIY guy and ever need assistance with any DIY work you perform you can check out our tech articles here . Otherwise, you should definitely post up some more pictures of your beauty. Agree! -Luccia

POST 6Original post

Where did you get the spoiler from? Did the light fit in or was that custom hack?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wanted a nice big spoiler - but I didn't want to be a cheat. I mean for example putting on a Turbo or GT3 spoiler on a standard car. So I figured an aerokit spoiler isn't really cheating, since it's an option you can choose even for non-party 996s. Probably by lucky timing, I found a complete boot lid and spoiler, in the right colour, on eBay breaker's Jasmines web shop. The package was the right colour, and even included the blanking panel that covers 2nd rear light. It was a simple 10 minute job to swap over the whole lid. Cost was about 800 (an unpainted spoiler costs around 900 for a fake to about 2000 for a good make). Note: The spoiler failure light does not come on when you go over 75mph the boot lid had no logo on the back, so I bought 'PORSCHE" black self adhesive logo which conveniently covered a small scratch

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no hacking required. cables from 996 fit original and new boot lid/spoiler.
