One of the few 996 manuals that I don't have is the Bentley Manual which typically sells for between $135 and over $200. I have been keeping an eye out for a deal to get one. A week or so ago there was a used copy on eBay that I bid $82 but I was not at the computer when the auction ended to raise my bid and it went for $102. So I kept looking. Last night I woke up about 2:30 and got up to read for awhile. I decided to do a quick search and found them on sale at Ecstuning.com for only $109.98 with free shipping so with tax shipped to me it was $120.70. So I thought I would post on here and let others know of this deal but I just went online at the site and the price is back up to $137.70 plus tax (which is still about the best price you will find. But as I said it seems that timing is everything!

That's a good price for that book. I just grabbed a copy of 996 The Essential Companion yesterday on eBay for $91 and I thought that was a score. I still need the Bentley manual and 996 Torque book. I may jump on this one too.

I think the 996 Companion is just a little more digestible and has better diagrams from what I understand.

FWIW, I have both. And use both. The companion offers a lot of 911 history. I haven�t found it to be a great source for DIY. I use many resources including 101 projects book and the workshop manuals for download at rennkit.com. This forum is very helpful too!

I need pics and suggestions for order of doing tasks. Not that I�m not interested in the history. This site, you tube, and the two books I already have been helpful.
