Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, any of you have a Function First slotted shift **** or a Rennline shift **** on your 996? If yes, how do you like it and how does it feel compared to the factory ****? Thanks in advance!

POST 2Original post

I apologize in advance for the pic but if you look closely (lol) your see the FF slotted ****. I'm not sure how serious of responses your get but I only got it because as you can see, everything else was modded. My logic was it's only 100 it's a mod and I'm supporting a vendor Again sorry if I didn't answer your question never been big on yelp reviews either

POST 4Original post

Thanks... haha good eye; eye spy Btw I have 2 Hans seats One is a used xl for daily use and one is regular for track use. Would hate to have a tear/rip on a 3000 seat from wear and tear especially since it's a really tight fit.

POST 5Original post

Yeah expiration date is only essential if you're professional racing and not just looking like it. I personally don't make a big deal on that, even with kid seats which also has expiration. I know some parents are really paranoid by that. Last time I checked, plastic and fabric generally don't expire or go bad in any way. Your car is looking good. Any other updates or pics on it?

POST 6Original post

I used the Rennline brushed aluminum **** in my previous 996 and loved it. Perfect easy install, and the set screw attachment method means you can effectively adjust shifter height by at about 1/2 in. The nice heft compared to the cheapo factory **** helps smooth out the shifts and remove some of the loose, clunky feel of the 996 shifter. Perfect size feels great in your hand. Highly recommended.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback! Was going to possibly go with an OEM Carbon Fiber **** but just way too much $$$.....The rennline and function first look like great alternatives though. Plus I hate the shape of the 996 shifter lol. Not sure why they went with it in the first place
