Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

From a quick look around the bay I can't see anything loose or disconnected but as you all know space is limited to really see much.
Leading evidence: 'Disconnect but as you all know space is limited' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check fuel pressure valve' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

It was causing hunting and the odd stall, since the new one was fitted the car ran really well.

Thanks guys, I had a faulty oil seperator replaced a few weeks ago.

I don't think the fuel filter was ever changed, I cleaned the idle control valve earlier this year and it was working fine.

Suggestion
If they are original, it may make sense to just replace them all (with either OEM or mode modern vacuum hoses from Pelican), or you can try to hunt down the potential leak via a smoke test (aka light up a Cigar).
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Have a bit of a problem.
Yesterday driving home I slowed at a junction and the engine just died, since then it won't idle at all, it just cuts out. To keep the engine running it needs to be reved.
When it's running it sounds fine, no nasty noises, sounds like it's running on all cylinders. No dash lights are on, I scanned it with a basic code reader and there are no codes logged.
All fluid levels are fine.
Anyone seen this before?
If it has cable throttle, the idle control valve may be acting up or it needs some cleaning. I would expect it at least to store a code though. A durametric will help in this case.
When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Also need to check fuel pressure valve.
I don't think the fuel filter was ever changed, I cleaned the idle control valve earlier this year and it was working fine.
No codes stored at all but I don't have durametric.
If the engine is capable of revving, then probably not a fuel delivery problem. While the engine is running, try removing the oil filler pipe cap and see if the engine stumbles and runs badly. What I am thinking is that there is a vacuum leak somewhere. At revs the engine can overcome it, but at idle it won't and it just goes down and dies because the air/fuel ratio is just too lean. Common vacuum leaks - AOS, oil filler pipe, TB o-rings and seals, any of the vacuum hoses and canister on the top of the engine. Also, idle control valves can fail completely. Might swap it out with a new one and see if that works. Let us know how it goes.

The hard vacuum lines are known to crack and leak with no visible clue that they are faulty. If they are original, it may make sense to just replace them all (with either OEM or mode modern vacuum hoses from Pelican), or you can try to hunt down the potential leak via a smoke test (aka light up a Cigar).
I'm thinking with the AOS replacement your oil filler pipe cracked, AOS line to the TB or intake plenum is leaking, vacuum hoses were left undone, something along those lines. I hate to say it and the possibilities are remote but it has happened...bad AOS, even brand new. Sounds like it is doing the same things it was doing prior to AOS replacement. Huh.
