Suggestion · Original poster

It needs replacing no doubt, but my question is I would need to remove the hose and lose all my coolant in the process and refill and bleed out the air out of my coolant system once I refill it?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anybody let me know what this coolant hose is called (where is it connected to).? It needs replacing no doubt, but my question is I would need to remove the hose and lose all my coolant in the process and refill and bleed out the air out of my coolant system once I refill it? Am I missing something or is any of those steps wrong or not needed thanks ahead of time

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here's a picture of the hose. Ignore the tape I just used that to try and minimize the exhaust heat to the hose.

POST 3Original post

It's going to the heater core. Second last photo here https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...pump-tips.html You will lose about 2.5gal Looks like part#29 here http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=105-05

Great so it'll only lose 2.5gallons and automatically stop? Also any need to bleed my coolant system after I refill with coolant?also on your picture your hose looks a lot longer than mine. My hose is just a little small elbow connected to a metal pipe. The hose ends where the tape does the hose connects to the metal pipe.

POST 5Original post

Yes, it will stop automatically. You need to bleed manually if you don't have the vacuum fill tool. I think mine is the same as yours. The long part that looks like a hose is actually part of the metal line, I think. Check out the photos on autoatlanta. They show a short elbow.
