Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have read on RL that people's exhaust notes have changed when replacing motor mounts so I'm wondering if that plays into this some how...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Not exactly my intentions paying a shop to hack my lovely oem PSE lol...
Removed the cans from my C4S after hearing some rattling from the exhaust and confirming with a rubber mallet. Upon removal, sure enough there was a chunk of metal inside which bang around as you shook the muffler. Took it to the exhaust shop to:
-Surgery on the can with the chunk of metal in it; ended up being a baffle that had broken loose. Replaced and rewelded
-Tack the exhaust tip hanger to the tips as the factory weld on both tips had cracked
-Fister mod the inlet to outlet pipes for extra sound
-Cut off the OE vacuum switches as they are not connected to anything (no switch on dashboard) and they rattled like crazy when tapped with a rubber mallet. Exhaust shop tacked the butterfly valve in the normally-open position
The only other thing that's changed since I pulled the mufflers off was one of my motor mounts failed while lifting the car from the lifting point behind the sump (original motor mounts 13+yrs old). Have replacements on order.
Any thoughts? I cannot comprehend how doing the Fister mod on my PSE has made it quieter lol... I may just take them back off and have the exhaust shop revert it back but the mufflers will end up even more hacked up so I'm weary.
Would the motor mounts have any impact here? I have read on RL that people's exhaust notes have changed when replacing motor mounts so I'm wondering if that plays into this some how...
I'm willing to bet the muffler place did something wrong like tack welding the flapper valve closed.
Or it could be that you were so used to the additional noise that the loose baffle let through.
Have you heard other PSE systems before to compare it to?
Not to split hairs, but the title of this post is misleading. You had your mufflers modified by a local shop. They weren't modified by Fister. I've never heard a single complaint about Fister's work.
