Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'd say, head to Ebay or salvage yard for used harness.

I've seen quite a few used harnesses available on Ebay.

A wiring harness was $138 used so $13 is a cheap first try fix
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I'm troubleshooting a bad O2 sensor this morning. I removed the airbox to get access to the 02 sensor connection that lives behind it.
Started to car to monitor the signal from the sensor (using my BlueDriver bluetooth obd2 reader) and damnit the MAF sensor wire got into the serp belt pulley and the 5 pin connector was torn off and mangled.
I doubt I'm going to like the answer to this question but....where would I get a replacement connector ?
I'm sure Porsche will only sell me a whole new engine wiring harness if I asked.
Advice ?
Thanks - it might.....although the list of compatible vehicles seems to include everything except my 2002 996
2001 911 - yep
2002 boxster - yep.
2005 911 - sure.
2002 - 2005 911 - nope.
It looks different too. Not much, but not the same.
I will keep digging - thanks guys.
Update - the ebay part from China is on the way but in the meantime the local euro auto wrecker says that he doesn't have any Porsche engine looms he's willing to clip but he also said :
"Isn't it just a generic Bosch 5-pin ?"
duh.
Looks like every 2000 era Golf or Jetta uses the same plug and those are a dime a dozen - actually $20 CDN but same diff.
I'm heading there tomorrow and hopefully this will be a cheap and easy fix.
Will report back.
