I HAVE AN UNCUT 996 KEY WITH LOCK AND TRUCK BUTTONS, AND WOULD LIKE TO GET IT CUT. I HAVE A VALET KEY TO CUT IT FROM. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET A KEY CUT OTHER THAN THE DEALERSHIP, WHICH BY THE WAY SENDS THEM OUT TO PORSCHE.
NOT ALL DEALERS . . . Oops sorry about the yelling. I meant to say that not all dealers buy them pre-cut from Porsche, some actually have the machine to cut the keys.
If you don't want to use your Porsche dealer, the only other opitons I am aware of are Audi and VW dealers, some of which have the key cutter.
The only part that needs to go through the dealer is the coding of the transponder but if you have that any really good key shop will do it. Here in LA I know of about 10 that will do it. I found them through the guy at the parts counter at the dealership.
I have a co-worker who sends EVERY SINGLE FREAKING e-mail in all caps. I've tried removing her cap lock key, but she apparently has a box of them, as she's right back in ALL CAPS the next am.

I used keysinthepost as well. Worked great to get the key cut using a photo. For the head, I ordered the 3 button head for my 996 from Suncoast and took it to my local dealer to program with my proof of ownership. The head comes with a tag that is necessary to program the key to your car. I think they charged me an hour for the service.
