Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When things were apart recently for the IMS replacement we checked the clutch and it was good.

Considering that the Supercharger kit runs around $10,000 last time I checked, I'm tempted to buy it, switch the SC onto my C4S, put its air box onto this vehicle, then put it back on the maker for $27k!

Clutch was replaced several years, but not many miles, ago.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After many years of rewarding ownership I am putting this really unique, really well cared for, and really fast specimen on the market. I'd like to move it as a 997 GTS is already in hand. Let me know what the Collective's thinking is on price etc, I'd appreciate it.

I love the color combo. Great curb appeal. Mileage is attractive. Interesting that you priced it just ABOVE a major price threshold instead of just BELOW it. I would think you should price it at $29,900 rather than $30,500.
I am in the market and am torn between the 996.2 and the 996tt. This car seems to fill the balance quite nicely.
a few questions about the car (and areas where you might want to revise your ad) is it the original clutch? Has the RMS/IMS been updated?
what power did the supercharger kit give? reliability? responsivness?
since I am on the otther side of the pond, I have no intent of purchasing it, but I am interested in the supercharger kit for my own car. maybe in not too distant future...

The Aerokit should be OEM -- shows on the build sheet.
The VF supercharger drives very well- instant throttle response, huge mid-range gains, and breathes well right to redline. The recent rebuild and upgrade seems to have given it even more mid-range. If on a full-throttle run, I actually shift well before stock redline since the torque is so good. There's a cool whine you can hear when cruising around but under throttle and at revs the signature Fabspeed bark subsumes it and sounds gorgeous.
RE price, I know I could ask more but have made the cardinal error of buying before selling and, between the new Triumph and 2 Porsches and new sailboat gear am leaning heavily on friends for surplus garage space. I would like it go to a good, quick, knowledgeable buyer rather than draw things out trying to extract the last dollar.
That's why I asked. The side skirts and rear bumper look to be oem Aerokit but not the wing or front bumper. Those are aftermarket. Don't get me wrong it is a great looking car! Good luck with the sale!
I always thought it was:
OE = Original Equipment = Came from factory
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer = Made by manufacturer who made the original parts
Aftermarket = Made by someone other than OEM
http://www.epsparts.com/contents/sho...ISCUSSION-PAGE
You're right. Sometimes OEM might not be the OE manufacturer, but makes an identical part. E.g. porsche can go through 3-4 brake suppliers to make brake rotors through a cars lifecycle.
But in this case, an OEM wing should definitely = an OE wing.
"Factory Aero" came in a few different combo's. Factory Aero "kit" came like the one shown in your pic. Point is if you look underneath all the parts, I'm willing to bet you would see factory part numbers.
With that said, it is a pet peeve of mine to have mk1 period correct skirts on a mk2 model, but as I understand it, some mk1 sideskirts did make it into mk2 cars from the factory.
That wing version also for purists would rather be seen on a vert.
Either way, OP has a sweet ride and I wish him luck in his sale.
Yes and no. If it didn't come in a Porsche box, it's aftermarket. There are different levels of aftermarket and OEM is supposed to be a high quality one.
Hey guys, first time poster, brilliant looking car!
I have a 2004 C2 with an AeroII kit on it and a few other go fast bits, no supercharger though!
Just wondering, did the C2s with a factory AeroII Kit come out of the factory without the rear wiper like the GT3?
I see the the OPs car doesn't have one
The rear wiper is a separate option that has nothing to do with whether your car was equipped with aero kit or not.
I deleted my rear wiper and front headlight washers for better aero. lol
'
This is what I initially thought too and that's the way I see most of them that came with it from factory. However I have seen both MK1 and MK2 cars that had the "XAA" option code in the sticker under the hood yet had a rear wiper. Forgot to check whether the 425 rear wiper option was also listed on the sticker.
I plugged it using universal metal wiper delete plug like this one:
Bumperplugs.com also sells a plug but it is basically like a plastic cap and not as robust. You can also pick up a generic plug from Ace Hardware too.

...but no. A bit too complicated.
Good luck with your sale. An attractive vehicle at an attractive price.
Another quick question, did the factory aero kit 2 have dual deck lid struts in the engine bay for the additional spoiler weight? I have seen some images with a 2nd strut or without the strut but the ball pin on the left side hinge and some without the pin or strut?
Thanks!
I've seen the same but I'm not sure if it was dealer/owner added or factory added. I do know that the aerokit spoilers is actually lighter IIRC than the stock decklid/spoiler/motor assembly.
