Not definitive but try removing the fuse for the rear windows and see if the top still operates. Fuse is D-4 and appears to be dedicated to just the rear windows.

Not too concerned about power to cabriolet top more that if unbolting regulator affects the top hydraulics?

Its a big pain to take those rear Windows and regulators out. I had to loosen the top components to get mine out, so I wouldn�t operate the top without everything put back in place.

It may be more complicated. The rear windows have to go down (and stay down) when the top is down. The switches are inoperable with the roof down, but that's okay because you're just trying to get access. If you take the regulators out then, you should be able to put the roof back up, but what will you be doing with the rear windows while the regulators are out?

I�ll be doing the same thing I am now driving around with no rear windows. They are currently in but neither one rolls up, I can kinda pull them up part way. I�d like to pull them both and either repair them or send them off to a guy to get them rebuilt. during that time is like to keep my top up in case I get a little sprinkle or something.

The regulator does have an electronics module that may or may not need to be involved in making sure the car knows the rear windows are down. Not sure though.
