Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Not sure, but I would inspect the bores top and bottom, along with cam deviation, as part of your PPI.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Greetings, im a British car guy but would like to buy a 2003 Carrera, which is on loan to me. Is there an experienced tech that could inspect this car? I live in Temecula, CA and have myself and the car available Monday, 12 April. I have a shop with a lift if needed. Thanks! Jim

Not sure, but I would inspect the bores top and bottom, along with cam deviation, as part of your PPI.

POST 3Original post

If you don't hear back from anyone with names, give your local PCA president or head of tech inspections a call and see if they can most likely make a recommendation.

Jim, Tony Callas of CallasRennsport is the man for the job. https://www.callasrennsport.com/

POST 5Original post

Tony Callas is the man you want to see in Southern California, however, Torrance is about 2 hours away from Temecula. There's a good chance another local Rennlist member will see this and know of someone closer to you but I'd say +996 on reaching out to your local PCA (Porsche Club of America) chapter.

I was going to suggest Black Forest in San Diego but that's still a one hour drive. There are shops in Vista and Escondido that advertise in our local chapter magazine but I don't know anything about either one. https://emsautorepair.com/ https://www.makellosclassics.com/
