I measured the holes to be 16 inches on center apart, and depending on the which bracket position I use to mount the seats I can't the pegs on the rails to get within this measurement, the pegs fall between 16.25 and 16.5 inches just enough to make it impossible to get the rails in depending on the setting and if I set the seat to its highest setting front and rear on the brackets its the closest fit and I can manage to get the pegs in but it ends up tweaking the rail and only 3 of the 4 holes don't line up for the torq bolts.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am hoping someone out there is attempting the same project as me on there 996 as I am told 10 sets of these brackets were just shipped for this specific seat combination. After looking a long time at lightweight seat options and originally leaning towards Recaros, I ended taking the plunge for a seat of full leather Cobra Nogaro fixed back seats. I found this seat to be absolutely perfect for my dual purpose needs. At the recommendation of HMS motorsports I went with the manual OEM sliding rail and the Brey Krause side mount brackets. The seats came a few months ago and are absolutely awesome exactly what I wanted but the brackets were on backorder. Finally a few weeks ago the brackets arrived. What I though seemed like a pretty basic bolt up exercise has turned into a real daunting task. The quick version is that after 2 days of fiddling with the assembly I am having alignment problems with the rail pegs fitting into the floor holes. I noticed that when the assembly is put together especially on the low seat position on the brackets is pushes out or bows out the rail slightly not making the pegs straight up and down but cambered out. I think this is what is causing the distance to be greater than the 16 inches. Any help would be greatly appreciated as what I thought would be a fun enjoyable project has completely defeated me. I am trying to eliminate possible causes as maybe there was some specs slightly changed in this new tooling of the bracket in this latest batch. Thanks!
