Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The reason I'll take the car to the dealer is due to the complexity, at least for me, of the task at hand.
Leading evidence: 'complexity, at least' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'complexity, at least' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check cv joints' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Recently I have noticed that while up-shifting from 3rd to 4th, 4th to 5th, and 5th to 6th, there is a distinct clank noise coming from the rear axles. This noise can be almost eliminated if the gear shifts are carried out much faster, as if one was in a race trying to make the qualifying time.
I do not drive aggressively, unless it is safe, and I shift gears at, or around, 4000 RPM. I would like to know if someone had similar experience. I am afraid that some component may be worn and needs to be replaced.
Any advice is appreciated.

Something amiss. I change up around 3000 to 35000 and no clunking. Get the car up on the Porsche Ramp and let them check it out for you. No use guessing. They will find it. Thrust bearing on the blink??
Thank you guys. The car is due for service and this problem will be added to the other nuisances that are driving me nut.
I'll be posting the dealership diagnosis.
I'll wait for the dealership diagnosis. At least you didn't ask about an issue AND ask how to fix it when all along you were going to take it in anyway like some.
The reason I'll take the car to the dealer is due to the complexity, at least for me, of the task at hand. First "do no harm", yes I could bring the car to an independent mechanic, but I have some time left in the after market warranty. I have asked the opinion of those knowledgeable, and helpful folks of this forum so that I have "some" prior knowledge of the problem and avoid being bamboozled by your friendly service adviser. Thank you again to all those who have contributed their opinion.
Anytime you feel you might be "bamboozled", it's time to find a place you can trust IMO. Mechanics get irritated by online diagnosis just like Doctors that hear patients trying to outsmart them because they read some opinions on WebMD.com.
Please keep us updated on what the prognosis is.
Mystery solved. The dealer's technician lubricated the shifter linkage counter weight. I had to go and educate my self, since I never heard of such thing. It turns out that the counter weight contributes to the overall feel of the shifter action by providing a firmer feedback. Few additional odds and ends brought the final tally into the four digits. Thank you to all of you that provided your opinions.
