0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use on the top glass' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use on the top glass' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looking at a Targa because I like the lift gate rear hatch.
Wondering what day to day life is like with that big glass roof in high temperature sun belt areas?
While not exactly a Porsche, I had a first generation Acura Integra in the early 90s in Tampa, and I can tell you it got pretty damn hot. Of course, at that temperature and humidity, I don't think you'd be able to notice the difference between that and any other car in the parking lot.
I had the darkest tint allowable and i think it helped to keep the car cool, but can't point to anything definitive. I didn't notice any fading of the cargo carpet whatsoever - don't know if that was the tint or luck.
Using a windshield screen shade did help - I could tell the difference between my car and others that didn't use a screen shade.
There is one in the local area and I went by to look at her last Friday. To your point its hard to determine whether this car was hotter inside than any other coupe on the lot.
I am interested in folks insights about driving with the Targa top closed and the screen closed? How effective is the roof tint and sun shade at sparing drivers form the sun?
I certainly don't live in the sun belt but I love my targa so I thought I'd chime in.
The sunshade works well on a brite day but most of the time I leave it back. I really like the light from above. I am tall and my head is close to the roof. I feel way less cramped into my car than I do in my dads coup because of the extra light.
The hatch is a must too. Buy it for that. It really is great for loading sporting equipment or the dry cleaning or whatever. Every 911 should have the hatching rear window.
We have an 02 Targa.
The hatch was the main reason I chose a Targa.
There is DEFINITELY a greenhouse effect, and it does get hot.
I had some high-speed tint added ("titanium blah blah blah" that is supposed to deflect 1015% of the UV and heat blah blah blah) and it helps, but it does not approach the coupe in heat deflection.
However, again, the convenience of the hatch vastly overcomes the disadvantage of the greenhouse.
I have a black on black 04 Targa and love it. Being in San Diego, we get over 300 days of sunshine a year. My glass is tinted (bought the car that way in Oct) and leave the sunshade closed. The biggest difference was adding a windshield sun screen, one of those aluminium looking things. It makes a huge difference
Be careful what tint you use on the top glass. Some of them will make the top very hot and the glass can crack. BIG bucks to replace
