Did you do it all in one day including removing and replacing the pan (minus the alignment)?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I must say it s quite a bit more work than the average car.
After the underbelly pan was off it was about 3 hours per front corner and considerably less for the two rear shocks.
I used the pull the drive shaft stub method and it went pretty smooth. Disconnected the whole spindle and took it out side to give a good cleaning.
Just went with the ROW Sport suspension from Suncoast. fit right and was not much of a hassle. did not need spring compressors taking apart or going together. greased the upper ball bearing piece in the strut top hat. took opportunity to slide the strut top bolts all the way to the inside.
Doing an alignment tonight to make sure I did not upset it too much.
Did you do the work on a lift or jack stands? How much time could you save on a lift? Did you do it all in one day including removing and replacing the pan (minus the alignment)? May I ask what you spent in parts?
I can answer one of those!
The kit looks to be about $1500

I've been thinking about this kit myself, as a replacement/upgrade when my factory setup wears out.
As usual with Porsche, this part has gone up $500 within the past few years which used to be under $1k for the entire kit. Same for GT3 sway bars, control arms, engines, aero body pieces, sport exhaust, etc...
Considering the Euro is pretty low now, it might be worthwhile to see what it would cost to buy in the Eurozone, Gert at Carnewal for example who has a good history over here on this forum.
Kinda ironic how 996 took a major depreciation hit, yet it is one of the models that has one of the highest factory oem part increases over the years on some items.
Yep that is the kit,
Jack stands, car was super stable. Lift wouldn't have saved much time.
Pan is easy once yiu figure out the trick to the clips.
Should be big difference as the springs are stiffer swaybars are also bigger and the shocks are not shot
Fronts had skips and i could easily change direction with no resistance rears were not as tired but not smooth either
Yep maybe so, but the people at Suncoast were super easy to deal with answered my questions when purchasing and it's only a couple bucks.
Really isn't it worth it? BTW never found this Carnewal site when shopping.
OK so wheels back on torqued bell pans and brake ducts on.
Suspension was pretty whacked out with the camber increase and ride height change.
Now at 1.3 negative front and 1/16 total toe out rear did not change measurably so I will see how I like it. Turn in is quick not jittery. didn't get to take my favorite corner at speed because traffic. but over all car is just a touch firmer.
I refreshed my '04 at 65k miles with the same set up. Best mod/up grade along with Fister & 997 shifter. Lowered the car just enough for me as I have a steep drive way that eats front bumpers. Like the way it improved overall handling. This is the way Porsche intended it to be - unfortunately USA regs. ruined original Porsche set up. Enjoy.
My wife says it is so much different than before (It's her car). She said it is almost like my M3 that rides on 3X the spring rate and AST4100 shocks.
Shocks make all the difference in the world.
14 hrs. start to finish. including searching youtube vids and forums on how to do that.
lot of cleaning because at some point in the past the CV's spit grease all over the front spindles.
