I replaced my top last year and after careful consideration went with the plastic window.

Hi,
Really want the glass rear window and I found a good used one, does anyone know if this will work?
I have a 2000 996 C2 cabriolet - the top is from an 04 c4.

Not worth the hassle. Go on eBay and buy a new top with glass. Did it on my 01 996. Best mod. Look up my past threads and you should find a pic of my car.
The 996.2 top has a slightly different frame than the 996.1.
The difference was required due to the usage of a glass rear window for the 996.2 vs the plastic window of the 996.1.
So, as noted above the '04 top will not work on your 2000 top frame and mechanism.
Go on ebay and look at autotopfactoryllc. They have glass tops for series I for $650. I bought the regular plastic window version for my car because I wanted the full size window and I believe it was $350. It is apparently made by one of the former GAAH partners (the H) and it has been awesome. Had it two years and it looks and works great.

Personally, not a fan of the tiny glass window. I replaced my top last year and after careful consideration went with the plastic window. The new ones are double-stitched and won't delaminate, which was the only reason my old top needed to be replaced.
The glass window is nice in that it won't get hazy, but the plastic window more closely resembles the lines of the coupe and gives a great deal more visibility.
In either case, buy a new one, not something used on eBay.
NOVUS 123 is a very fast solution to the hazy plastic window. It's a three part buff, polish and clean product. Takes less than 10 minutes max by hand. < $20 on Amazon. I had to do my old window twice a year or so and my "new" tops is 2 years old without a hint of haziness. So, my guess is there are some coatings or fibers in the plastic that wear over time that makes it haze more as it gets older. Hypothesis. Anyway, love my cheap eBay top and plastic window!
