Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

One way to confirm would be to disconnect a wheel sensor and hook an oscilloscope to it and spin the wheel, or just rotor if the wheel is off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

One last detail to complete my ls to 1999 996 conversion -the vehicle speed signal .What I know is that the abs control unit provides the dme with the vehicle speed signal .What I don't know is what that signal looks like .The gm ecu requires a square wave -the pulses are configurable . Does anyone know what the Bosch signal characteristics are ? Thanks Dave

POST 2Original post

If you want a guess I would say square wave given the wheel speed sensor and tension flange configuration seen here: http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=401-05 One way to confirm would be to disconnect a wheel sensor and hook an oscilloscope to it and spin the wheel, or just rotor if the wheel is off. You might even be able to see the pulse with a multimeter, but not sure about that since the signal would be fairly weak.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DBJoe I believe you are right on the wheel sensors .I am trying to determine what the bosch abs control unit sends to the dme . ocfservice-sine wave from the control unit ?

POST 5Original post

I think he's pointing out that the wheel speed sensors produces AC current when you rotate the hub.
