Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quick question to all C4S owners... Did your car come with stone guards? Bought mine 6 months ago and it did not have them. Need to replace the ones on my 997.2 and wanted to do the 996 at the same time. Called dealer and emailed my parts guy and got the same comment that there's no part number for them... Surprised but I guess it's possible. Can anyone verify this? thank you!

POST 2Original post

Mine doesn't have them. I didn't buy the car new, so it's possible that they were removed, although I doubt that is the case. My car has almost zero stone chips in that area, which surprises me. My 993 took a beating in that same area, even beyond where the stone guards covered.

POST 4Original post

The only ones I've ever seen were aftermarket.

POST 5Original post

EJ I know we have been talking by email the other day about these stone guards, but I was wondering if the 993 4s stone guards would work? -Jason

POST 6Original post

I had some made for mine. I have a c2 but the dealer told me the same thing: no part number for a 996 stone guard

POST 7Original post

No stone guards on my 04 C4S and was told by the dealer and a local clear film guy that they were not offered on the 996 series. I also have no stone chips in that area.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks, guys, for all the answers! Jason, thanks, I'll let you know if I need them.

POST 9Original post

Have an '03 C4S, and had an '02 ten years ago. Neither had stone guards. Had a 993 C4S; don't recall that it had them.
