I disconnected the battery that night and let t sit for a day and it seemed to be better.

I received it with a blown engine and swapped a boxster s engine in.

First I used standard WD40 and it only last 1 day before beep comes back.

I have been lubricating the door lock and it seems to solve it for 5-6 months at a time before it comes back.

I was hoping to get some input. I�ve been having a variety of door switch/alarm/motion sensor issues. I have a 2001 C4 cabriolet. I received it with a blown engine and swapped a boxster s engine in. It runs and drives fine. But I don�t know a lot of it�s history and it�s spent a couple of stints sitting over the past year and a half; while I swapped it and for this past winter.
About two weeks ago is when the alarm issue really popped up. It was my second time using the soft top. Mostly I�ve just driven the car with the hard top. My wife had some trouble with the door(sometimes the passenger window goes back up when you open the door; I know what to do by lightly holding the handle but she just slammed the door). Then when we were driving home it was doing a double beep as we were driving. When I got home, anytime I would open the passenger door it would act really sporadically double beeping a lot and the window would go up and down intermittently. I disconnected the battery that night and let t sit for a day and it seemed to be better.
This weekend when I put the car up on jack stands it started doing the double beep just as I was lifting the car. And the passenger door started acting really odd again. And it was double beeping while I was driving in to work this morningg.
I know double beeping is usually an issue with the interior motion sensor. However I can�t find much on double beeping while driving. I have an owners manual but it is unfortunately in storage.
I suspect that the passenger door latch/switches are going out and maybe that is contributing to my issues. But besides that I�m stumped. I have not had much luck with doing the double press of the key fob to disable the syetem. Anyone have suggestions on where to start?
Do you have the center lock switch on the dash and is the red light on? Just my sample size, it was the passenger door latch micro switch on mine that's sticky and it would render the system to think the door is not locked when it should be. When I am driving the vibration would jiggle the switch loose a bit and it would double beep and I see the red light come on the central lock. When it get sticky, I also get the window drop problem, it hesitant to drop or drop and come back up and do weird thing. I have been lubricating the door lock and it seems to solve it for 5-6 months at a time before it comes back. I shoot the lube in the lock mechanism and lock and unlock the door few times and the beep goes away, the windows works correctly. I know I am just waiting for the inevitable that I will have to get it replaced. I would give that a try start from something you have easy access to and eliminate those micro switches one at a time.
That actually sounds very likely/similar to what I was thinking. What kind of lubricant did you use and where did you spray? I would love to buy myself a little time before tearing into it.
I was just reading a thread about how to replace the most commonly failed switch to the latch/lock mechanism. I�ve never dissected a part like that but it would save a lot of money. It doesn�t look too hard(famous last words).

My troubles began when the passenger side window on my 2004 C4S cab would not drop and the window would smack the top if the door handle was not held up.
My very teck savvy / Boxter owner cousin said he would help. He ordered a new microswitch (AliExpress, I believe) and proceeded to swap it out. (Photos of the amazing work attached).
All good until on the ride back, the interior light came on so I open and shut the passenger door and it went out but then the current problem started.
when I lock the car with the Key FOB, it locks then the 2 beep alert and it unlocks. I need to press it again and it locks. The red light on the locking switch is on permanently and if pressed, it will do the same thing (lock, beep and unlock) with the steady red light on.
Any ideas?
