Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The spoiler on my 99 C4 cabriolet works fine using the manual control on the fuse box; there is no problem with relays or fuses and the spoiler warning light comes and goes off when it should BUT it will not automatically deploy at 75 mph or higher!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The spoiler on my 99 C4 cabriolet works fine using the manual control on the fuse box; there is no problem with relays or fuses and the spoiler warning light comes and goes off when it should BUT it will not automatically deploy at 75 mph or higher! None of the bibles/service manuals seem to have an answer. Help!

POST 2Original post

Speedometer is usually 3-4 mph off. Do a quick blip to 80 or so and see if it works. Spoiler deployment is controlled by the DME, which in turns gets its information from the speed sensors at the wheel hubs.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Many thanks. I have had it at a bit over 75 - quite a bit actually - and gaze hopefully in the mirror but with no result.

POST 4Original post

I don't know if it is just me, I have never seen my spoiler deployed thru any of my mirrors, I have a cabriolet and would think it would be easier.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. I thought the red light came on when it deployed and then turned off. Maybe it has been working all along!

POST 6Original post

No light when spoiler deploys. Take a passenger along and have them take a look. Maybe it is working and you just can't see it from the drivers seat.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I will see who draws the short straw in my family! Thanks again for the input

POST 8Original post

I could never see mine either, but now I added the Better Bodies little wing on the deck and can see my spoiler when deployed now I bet yours is up, you just can't see it.
