Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I plan on lowering the engine to change the coolant tank out and engine mounts. I'm going to put a 2x4 across the sump. Not sure where. Across where the sump bolts are - edge? Or in the middle? I've scene it done both ways.... Thoughts? Also, I'm doing this on a 4 post. Going to use one or two scissor jacks to lower it slowly on the 4 post jack shelf. Good?

POST 2Original post

A 2x4 fully accross anywhere on the pan is fine.

Take a look at that sump. The bottom of my sump is convex so I think the left/right flat edge together (2x 2x4 etc) is a better choice - imho. I've seen somewhere images of hair fractured bottom of the sump due to supporting that from the "wrong" point.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
