These are poor amps anyway better to replace with Alpine, Pioneer etc.

An alpine would need you to use a fiber adapter box which has limitations and it’s own problems.

The drivers side speaker on my 2003 C4S with Bose system does not work. I swapped it with the passenger side and it still does not work so i assume there is a problem with the Bose Amp. I checked the connections and took the amp apart but did not notice anything obvious. Does anyone have an Amp they have removed from their 996 they want to sell relatively inexpensively? Any hints on what else the problem might be? When i turn the ignition off and remove the key i can still turn the radio on and off. Is this normal?

It is the amp. I suggest eBay as you can find the Bose specific ones fairly reasonably ( less than 500 used. ). Not great alternatives. There is a guy in Sweden that repairs them. You could also try Becker radios in NJ although they are slow , expensive and poor customer service. I just posted a similar response the other day to some stereo questions. Thx - Scrh1

Here’s more info for you no link to the post. The be6600 is different from the rest and eBay is hit or miss. Problem is that they have a design flaw and will happen again. More details on the post. I found an eBay unit and as long as you keep your car garaged and keep the humidity down it should last a long while. Agree…however …..Most bus is the issue and the op wants to use pccm. An alpine would need you to use a fiber adapter box which has limitations and it’s own problems. Either that or bypass the fiber and reword the stereo ( totally doable, just lots of work to make it reversible neatly ).
