Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was giving the 996 a wash this afternoon and while wiping down the door jambs, noticed the rubber boot didn't look right. The top of the boot does not sit flush against the body. I'm assuming there must be a broken clip/tab on the top side of the connector, and the bottom is still fine because it's retained by a screw. Anyone ever replace the door wire harness? It doesn't look to be too difficult of a job, I've been in the doors a few times now between window regulators and door latch mechanisms. No idea how long it's been that way; is it worth messing with? Passenger side: notice gap on top side of bulk head boot. Driver side: still sits flush.

POST 2Original post

I would try to reseat it. As you know they are kind of a bitch to get right.

POST 3Original post

One of the very few things i didnt get right on my car after the rebuild. Getting those correct is a pita and i gave up. Both sides oy car look like that and i have learned to ignore it.
