This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good morning guys and happy Sunday. After attending cars and coffee yesterday I went to a local watering hole the wellhead ( oil community here in The Houston area). Anyway after parking my car I went to lock it , inserted the key and it just free rotates to both positions but no locking unlocking actiion. My key fobs eats the battery so I have always for most of the time lock and unlock it manually. How can I repair this, more than likely one of you guys have dealt with this before. . Fixing to start smoking this brisket point. Cars and coffee Sugarland God bless Texas, Saturday no happy hour $2.50 pints 🍻 cheers Pretty blue 996. This one will be going in the smoker soon after I move my stable of cars around

I drove it twice this week. Tuesday to get the ipd plenum and headers and yesterday to cars and coffee. Anyway a total of 200 miles , got past 100,000 miles this week. I missed the moment I was enjoying the extra power. Dont know but I do think the plenum makes a difference. Im happy with it.

POST 4Original post

Ha I just got my plenum delivered Friday a Father’s Day gift to myself

You can pull some details from this thread. More than likely the "pin" that goes from the door lock cylinder to the door latch mechanism has come undone. Might be as simple as re-connecting the pin with the plastic fitting. A bit difficult to describe, but there are some good pictures in this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-detailed.html

I would guess the part the connects the keylock to the lock mechanism is probably broken. (see images) Borrowed from Sweet Victory's thread on the subject: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-detailed.html
