I suspect the 2,500 miles he put on it in the last 12 months were done Ferris Bueller style; with car being on jack stands and him "driving" it about 50 miles a week.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

(If there is another pre-existing thread with this theme, please let me know and I'll just post there. I've read back through many years and don't remember seeing such a photo post theme, though plenty of "slammed cars" or "18inch rims" which skews the photos differently)
There's been lots of recent chatter about how too many 996 owners (and P-cars in general) are "owners" and not "enthusiasts" a subset of which I like most, "drivers."
I firmly believe these works of mechanical rolling art were meant to be driven.
Let's see some pictures celebrating our beloved 996's (and P-cars in general) on the road!
Multiple settings with the same car welcome, the idea is all about DRIVING our cars!
Wow! Your pictures are so nice, I'll have to up my game!
Thanks for your support of this thread; sometimes, there's so much damned gloom and doom about the 996 that it is easy for noobs to get the wrong idea and get scared off.
This thread celebrates the great driving cars these 996's are!
YaHOOOOO!!!!

I
would have paid the $3,070 up-charge for it if I was the original purchaser, but I do enjoy having a more unusual color!
Seal Gray still remains my favorite 996/997 color.

I doubt he has any pictures of his car outside of the garage. I suspect the 2,500 miles he put on it in the last 12 months were done Ferris Bueller style; with car being on jack stands and him "driving" it about 50 miles a week. This way KK avoided getting any dust on the tire threads and made sure should he experience a break down, he could quickly drop the motor.
I also suspect, that the only way KK's C4S will ever see the wild is...also the Ferris Bueller way...except his wife will play the Cameron's role.

Hi, Drove up from LA, have a few hopefully small issues. can you suggest any good P car mechs who can take a look? auto oil check shows my oil level one bar above min when engine recently shut off. very odd because last time car on lift was bone dry underneath and since then no oil spots where car parked. two weeks ago oil level always indicated as 1 bar down from top full when cold, 2 bars down when warm.
I know 997.2 GT3RS has a calibration function for the dash oil level indicator. Does the 996.2 C2 system need to be calibrated from time to time too? or am I really suffering from an oil consumption problem?
any indies that might take a look without charging arm and leg?
at Laguna Seca for next 3 all day, then back to LA.
OMFG! He even has covers for his lawn chairs. Even with all the polishing and UV wax he uses on his stainless steel powder coated and scotchguarded chairs, he feels the need to protect them further. He would have a field day if he lived in a snow zone.
KK, curious to know what is your daily driver?
